Searching for William
Fronted by the highly acclaimed actor and singer Christian Freidel, the band Woods of Birnam has performed this theatre concert – a strongly visual and poetic production – to packed houses.
In a mash-up between theatre and concert, Woods of Birnam authoritatively show that William Shakespeare remains both seductive and topical. Visuals, lighting, sound and film are combined in a strongly visual and perceptive story that is anything but classical theatre. You are invited into a magical world existing somewhere between dream and reality – a world that examines and challenges the essence of Shakespeare’s centuries-old texts. At this year’s Shakespeare Festival, Woods of Birnam present their wondrous universe in the open air at Kronborg Castle, where we will meet the doubting Hamlet, the power-mad Macbeth and the devious and crafty spirit, Puck, from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
