“Like a summer joke, ‘Stormen’ surfs the crests of the waves and supports it all with pop songs and loose inventions. It’s summer entertainment.”
”It’s hilarious and can be enjoyed without any preconceived notions.”
WE ARE SUCH STUFF AS DREAMS ARE MADE ON.
AND OUR LITTLE LIFE IS ROUNDED WITH A SLEEP.
The Tempest is Shakespeare in his most dangerous corner! An adventurous thigh-slapper, with lots of music, lap dance and wonderful creatures in all kinds of colors and shapes.
The Tempest is a wild and supernatural story about possessiveness, revenge and hatred, love and forgiveness, but can also be an allegory of European colonization and colonialist tyranny.
As always, the cycling theater SHAKES interprets Shakespeare’s text with plenty of humor, outrageous wigs and wild recycled costumes.
