HamletScenen presents open air theatre at Kronborg Castle at Shakespeare Festival. The Danish summer can be unpredictable. Therefore we recommend you to bring clothes that suits the whether forecast and a warm sweater and a blanket.
In case of rain, the performance will proceed even though this might cause delays and smaller interruptions. If there is only notified showers, the performance will be interrupted 10-15 minutes, after which the performance will continue to play. In this case the tickets will not be refunded.
Postponement and Cancellation
The decision of possible postponement or cancellation as a consequence of bad weather will not be taken into consideration until the performance starts. HamletScenen is in ongoing contact with Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), but due to Kronborg Castle’s special geografical location, it is difficult to give a 100% accurate weather forecast. In case the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) announces that it is expected to clear up in the following 45 minutes, the performance is postponed; however not more than 45 minutes. In this case the tickets will not be refunded.
In case of weather, that for more than 45 ongoing minutes makes it impossible to complete or revive of the performance, the performance must be cancelled. In this case the following rules count: if the performance is cancelled before it has been played for more than 30 minutes in total, the tickets will be refunded at the original place of sale. However, if the performance is cancelled after having played for 30 minutes in total, the tickets will not be refunded.
